The Wine

Cordillera Carménère has its origin in the famous Terroir of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley. The vineyard is on a foothill, on granite soils of colluvial origin with a clay loam texture and the presence of stones, offering very good drainage and low fertility. This is ideal for controlling vigour and obtaining very limited production of an excellent Carménère. Very intense colour. On the nose there is a wonderfully strong expression of the character of the Carménère variety (fruits of the forest, eucalyptus, and leather), with toasted notes (bay and clove), liquorice, and black pepper

The Taste

Great fullness on the palate and robust tannins. To finish, aromas of toasted bread and spices ending in a long aftertaste.

The Food Match

This great wine is the ideal companion for roast lamb or pig as well as meats cooked over coals and spiced with aromatic herbs and liquorice.
